Conversion vans and wind?

We have been thinking about something larger with hard walls. We aren't ready (nor desire) an RV just yet. But one of those small conversion vans could be nice. But the one thing we are both wondering is how are these when driving in heavy wind?

I think you'll be fine. If its that bad, go park somewhere. I had a 12' Lance camper on my dually. Leaving home, I hit a gust of wind that scared the crap out of me. turned around and went home. As it was, where I was going was worse all weekend. It would have been miserable if I was there.

All depends on suspension of the van, if weak, you'll feel more of those heavy gusts.

Many of those conversion vans have some weight behind them so it makes them handle the wind better. If you were in a empty out Uhaul van, that's another story!

I have found when you have these tricked out and a little weight behind them, they track better. Empty can be horrible in high winds.
