Will silicon be good for glueing solar panel to roof?

A flexible solar panel, - can this be glued to rooftop tent with clear silicon? The silicon is waterproof, just not sure on strength if that has what I need?

My flexible panel is held down with a couple of screws and Sikaflex adhesive.

My panel is 3'x4' off the top of my head. I'm not at home right now. smritte, will that adhesive work with a panel that big?

Mine is easy that size. I put 3 screws on the leading edge. I dont want to find out after a long drive that the air got under the panel somehow and lifted it.
Pretty much all the outside walls on my teardrop are held in with that adhesive.

OK, that is to keep wind from grabbing it I'm guessing. Now is it better to have the solar panel on angle or flat on roof?

mines flat facing up. Its a coin toss where you put it. There's no real optimal spot. Most of my trips are desert with the sun overhead. If I go where there's shade, I tie in my portable panel.

Why not just mount your panels on sheet of 1/8 birch with 25' line and mount where ever at camp?
