Permit required for Death Valley day use now?

I thought read somewhere recently that there was a new permit requirement for Death Valley day use, this that correct? Is this something that needs to be done in advance or can this be gotten at entrance to the park?

There has always been a fee to get in. There's three paved roads in and several dirt roads in, one of which is a main road. I know there's a Kiosk at one end on one of the paved roads that comes out of Baker but haven't seen another. I normally go in by dirt road and even though I have chatted with park service, the fee never came up.

Have you heard of that group (can’t think of their darn name ATM) that is standing up for places like Moab and other places like Death Valley?

There is a fee to get in? Damn, I'm pretty sure the last time we were there we didn't pay!
