Inflating Expeed Mega mat question

They say to inflate, you let it set for hour with inflate valve open, then pump 4-5 times. I always need to add upwards of ~25. Clearly these numbers are off. Can you shed some light on this for me please?

I think that is preference. Pump it up as much as you want that firm.

We have always had to add additional air into ours to get the firmness we want. The self-inflation is better than nothing, but has never been enough for us, regardless of how long we let it sit with the inflate valve open.
