Ham license

I was recommended to study and apply for my HAM license. Anyone that has one, how much is there to learn? I know that is a wishy washy question, but going to ask regardless. Did it take you long to pass test?

As with anything, having a background in the subject helps, but anybody can learn pretty easily. The best way to actually learn is to find a local HAM or ARES group where you can learn from people who really know the subject. Failing that, you can pick up enough to pass the test by taking free online exams like the one at https://hamexam.org/. Most people pass on the first try, but don't be discouraged if you don't. Again, your background and what resources you have available to you while you are studying can make a big difference.
