Have you tried camping in hammock?

A buddy wants me to go camping with a few others, all are heading out camping in hammocks. Now I'm not knocking hammocks, on the contrayer, these are super comfortable. But I've never camped in one, and I just thought they leave you a bit exposed. I guess you can get up high, but not sure yet. Have you gone camping in one and if so, what was your experience?

I haven't but would if I had a comfortable hammock. Which reminds me, I'm going to find one on Amazon.

I'd be concerned for just bears, anything else will be more scared of you.

I'll nap in one all day long, sleeping in one is another story.

Not over night, but plenty of naps during the day have been spent in a hammock!

We got one in our back yard that I have feel asleep in a many of times. Does that count?

I have to say, it’s pretty comfortable gang. Very breezy for obvious reasons, but some of the best sleeps I’ve had while camping!

I'll stick to a ground tent or roof top tent.

Got two, ones a cheap'o that I use for spare, best night of sleep during nice weather. Just saying.

Where I live, you need a bug screen on your hammock if you plan to fall asleep, otherwise you will wake with bite marks.
