Hardshell vs softshell rooftop tents?

Hardshell tents are faster to setup lighter but are smaller an more expensive. Tho soft one are heavier less expensive more roomy and will probably destroy your has milage because they are huge

I would pay the extra money and go for the hardshell mate. They are far more convenient

Hardshells you can also mount stuff on the roofs as well like solar panels and traction boards

I just bought a 2021 Gladiator and looking into rooftop tent. Dealership recommended this site to me to get 411. I was told set up time with hard shell is much quicker than soft tents, which is why you spend a little bit more. We mountain bike so I want something I can still put a bike rack on top of. What are some good tent brands to look at?

If you have the money get a hardshell mate. Much faster to setup, slimmer and lighter

Speed baby, go with the hard shell. But if you want space and not worried about set up time, soft shell
