Something to think about when you talk about winter months. Yes certainly less bugs. If you plan on being at camp for long time in winter, there are bugs that are underground and dormant in colder weather. If you heat up the ground, you can wake these bugs up and boom. They are back.

How long did it take you to swap out the steel cable with synthetic?

Not yet, I heard Amazon is launching their version of these soon, but I'd guess that will be a year or two before that will come to market.

If I had the space, I would love a project like this. I've seen some pretty amazing bus to camper/rv conversions. I don't know about the 4wd conversions though, that might be pricey. Even for normal vans, that's $$$$$, I can hardly imagine what it might be for something like this.

I went to plug in my Garmin InReach last night to charge the battery and this morning I unplugged it figuring it had plenty of charge. I got a warning saying external power unplugged, and shutting off. It's been a couple months since this thing has been charged up. Any chance the battery...
