What Does 4WD Mean On A Car?

You have your question in the wrong section on this forum. You might want to post this in the general topics vs 'offroad overland trailers'.

Regardless, 4wd means 4wd. Your car has 4 spinning wheels vs 2.

Four-wheel drive is a term used to describe cars that are more prone to being utilized for off-roading. A central differential is found in several 4WD vehicles, although not all, to help distribute torque and power between their rear and front axles.

Off-roaders will generally feature low and high-range gears. Low range gears allow the engine to move your vehicle over hilly slopes at a slower speed. Some 4WD vehicles don't have a low or high range, yet they can still go off-road.

Various versions come with several unique 4WD systems. In some of these versions, the vehicle completely stops before engaging the 4WD system, while other versions activate all four wheels perpetually.
