Soft shell or hard shell rooftop tent?

A friend of mine is in currently in the market for an RTT. I suggested he goes for a hardshell regardless of price. What do guys suggest?
 
If budget allows I would go for a hard top. They are lighter, more aerodynamic and far easier to set up and close
 
If there is a need to sleep multiple people then soft shell as they offer more space. For anything else I prefer the hard shell ones
 
Hard shell is going to go up much quicker. You spend more on getting one, but quicker set up and take down.
