Just a tire hole patch on sidewall of tire??

Last month I put new tires on my truck and 3 days ago I managed to get a 3/16" metal rod into the sidewall about 1" up from the treads. I put a patch in it, and it's holding good right now. No air that I can see has come out. I know it's frowned on to patch sidewalls, and this is the first I have ever done. Would you trust it?

If it's a small one it can be plugged

Honestly, I would set this one aside as the spare tire.

1000% agree, use that tire for your spare and get a fresh tire on the vehicle.

I wouldn't use for permanent tire, spare OK, use for emergency.

These days you have to make those tires stretch! Can't get replacements easily!!

After two holes on tread area, I'll move a tire to spare tire. On the sidewall, if plug is holding, I will move to spare.
