Best way to secure your hitch when leaving the trailer at camp for the day?

I could use some advice here. When you leave your camp and want to leave your trailer behind what are you doing to secure your hitch? Now I have a Max Coupler hitch, so I know it's not as common as a 2" ball as an example. But when you want to leave and explore a bit or head into town, what are you doing?

I've been pulling the assembly out of the nose of the trailer, and I know this isn't bullet proof, but at least it's a start. What are you doing to secure things?

I toss my hitch in the back of my truck and head out.

More reason to have a premium hitch, most won't have one to rip your trailer off!

Agree. Personally I just take the hitch out of the trailer and bring with me. But then again, I normally don't head off to far from camp.

+1 take it with you. That's what we do with boat trailers too. My brother in law will also run a heavy duty chain through the wheels.
